On September 24th, Moody's acted on Idera rating, citing "The rating action follows the announcement of the company's pending acquisition of Embarcadero Technologies, Inc. ("Embarcadero")" and "integration challenges associated with the Embarcadero acquisition which will more than double the company's size" (see https://www.moodys.com/research/Moodys-assigns-B3-CFR-to-Idera-Inc-outlook-stable--PR_335231). Guess Embarcadero people, and some of their groupies, will have an hard time now to classify these news as "obscure rumors". Of course, the interesting parts (for us, at least) - what will happen to development tools and Interbase, and what will happen to their actual managers - is yet fully unknown. As private owned companies they're not bound to disclose anything, and both companies looks unwillingly to say anything, not a surprise from a company like Embarcadero used to a Soviet-like behavior, never known Idera before. Maybe actual customers should ask about their investment in the near and medium term... I would be very careful about buying now an expensive subscription.
